Visit to the Oncology Clinic at the Gibraltar Health Authority
Recently,, members of the Prostate Cancer Gibraltar Committee visited the Oncology Clinic at the Gibraltar Health Authority (GHA), where they were warmly received by Dr David Ballesteros Quintanilla and his team, Clinical Director for Cancer Services.
The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for an in-depth discussion about the care and treatment of prostate cancer patients in Gibraltar. Dr Ballesteros delivered a detailed presentation, which served as an eye-opener for the Committee, explaining the structure of oncology services, patient pathways, and recent progress in diagnostic and laboratory work.
Following the presentation, the Committee expressed their gratitude for Dr Ballesteros’s information and the dedication shown by his team.
Dr Ballesteros thanked the PGC Committee for their interest and support, noting how valuable it was to have the opportunity to present his department’s ongoing work. His proactive engagement and commitment reaffirmed the close collaboration between the GHA and Prostate Cancer Gibraltar in striving for earlier detection and improved outcomes for men affected by prostate cancer.
This visit strengthened our shared aim of promoting regular PSA testing and increasing awareness of prostate health across the community.
