Masonic Lodge (Robert Freke Gould 2874) Supports Prostate Cancer Gibraltar

Prostate Cancer Gibraltar (PCG) is proud to acknowledge the generous support of the Masonic Lodge (Robert Freke Gould 2874), whose members raised £290 during the month of November as part of the Prostate Walnut Campaign.

Throughout November, members of the Lodge grew their moustaches in solidarity with men affected by prostate cancer, helping to spark conversations and raise awareness about the importance of men’s health. Their efforts not only generated valuable funds but also helped spread a powerful message within the community.

Supporting Awareness and Early Detection

The funds raised will directly support PCG’s ongoing work to:

  • Increase awareness of prostate cancer across Gibraltar

  • Promote the importance of early detection

  • Encourage men, particularly those over 50 (or over 45 with a family history), to take proactive steps in monitoring their health

Prostate cancer often develops without noticeable symptoms in its early stages. However, early detection saves lives.

A simple PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) blood test can help identify potential concerns at an early stage, allowing for timely medical intervention. This quick and straightforward test can make a life-changing difference.

Encouraging Men to Take Action

PCG continues to urge men not to delay in checking their PSA levels. If you have concerns or would like further information about arranging a test, please contact:

Community support such as that shown by the Masonic Lodge Robert Freke Gould 2874 enables PCG to continue delivering awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, and vital support services.

We extend our sincere thanks to all Lodge members who participated in this initiative. By standing together and raising awareness, we are helping to ensure that more men understand the importance of early detection — and that more lives are saved.
