Prostate Cancer Gibraltar hold their last Buddies meeting this year and invites Minister Arias Vasquez and Consultant Urologist, James Allen

Prostate Cancer Gibraltar donates £10,000 to Cancer Relief Gibraltar

Last night, Prostate Cancer Gibraltar held their last Buddies meeting of this year, at the Casino Calpe. Hon. Gemma Arias Vasquez, Minister for Health and Consultant urologist, Mr James Allen were invited to attend. Prostate Cancer Gibraltar were delighted to welcome the Hon. Gemma Arias-Vasquez MP, whose presence, and support was greatly appreciated.

The attendance at this meeting was high, as Buddies were keen to know the details of the new testing methodology being used at the GHA to test the PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen), which in recent weeks had caused prostate cancer patients some concern.  James Allen gave an excellent explanation of the recent changes, which put some of the Buddies at ease. His expertise in urology was well noted. However, some Buddies continue to express concern and Minister Arias Vasquez undertook to provide further information shortly. Prostate Cancer Gibraltar is deeply grateful to Minister Arias Vasquez for her concern of the Buddies’ wellbeing.

Durning the second part of the meeting, Cancer Relief Gibraltar was invited to give their fourth presentation this year, about the excellent service they provide cancer patients in Gibraltar. Prostate Cancer Gibraltar thanked them for the support and dedication they give prostate cancer patients before, during and after their journey. A donation of £10,000 was presented to Marisa Desoiza, Chair of Cancer Relief Gibraltar, by Minister Arias Vasquez on behalf of Prostate Cancer Gibraltar.
