CHIEF MINISTER SHAVES OFF HIS BEARD AND MOUSTACHE IN AID OF PROSTATE CANCER GIBRALTAR

As the Government noted in a recent press release marking International Men’s Day, November is a pivotal month for men and for no-one is this more true than Prostate Cancer Gibraltar, who intensify their fund raising and awareness campaign during the eleventh month of the year. The campaign reached its climax on Saturday with the traditional Shave-Off at Casemates and to illustrate his commitment to the cause, the Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, was the first to have his facial hair carefully shorn by Anas, of Fresh Cut barbers. Miss Gibraltar, Faith Torres, added a touch of glamour by providing the symbolic first razor cut, while a static display by the Harley Davidson Club-Gibraltar contributed to the ‘ambiente’. Before the Shave-Off, a Walnut Run (the walnut is the symbol of Prostate Cancer Gibraltar) organised in conjunction with Gibraltar Athletics saw a good number of participants complete the 5 km course. Trophies were awarded to the winners, Cristina Lawrence and Robert Matto. Together with a charity ride from Ronda to Gibraltar by Team PEB Cycling Gibraltar that reached the Rock in the evening, Saturday’s Casemates events concluded Prostate Cancer Gibraltar’s 2022 campaign. Donations are always welcome though, and you can contribute on the group’s website, pcg.gi
